Google Checkout Errors

Recommended Posts

I have done everything I am supposed to do with regard to Google Checkout. Customers are able to make orders and pay via Google Checkout, but I do not get any orders showing up in the back office. I received this email..

"We've made several unsuccessful attempts to send order notifications to your notification callback URL, https://www.earthshineelectronics.com/modules/gcheckout/validation.php As a result, you aren't receiving order status, risk or other notifications."

Google Checkout is reporting the following errors :-

We encountered an error trying to access your server at https://www.earthshineelectronics.com/modules/gcheckout/validation.php -- the error we got is javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path validation failed: java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: basic constraints check failed: pathLenConstraint violated - this cert must be the last cert in the certification path

Please help !!

can anyone please help? I have customers making orders that are not showing up in the shop, nor are they getting loyalty points, etc. this is getting desperate now. As far as I can see there is nothing wrong with the way it is all set up.

I know that bugs in the Google Checkout module have been fixed in v1.3. I'm not sure whether yours is one of them. You could try making a backup of your Google Checkout module and then overwriting it with the one from Prestashop v1.3 RC3. If you still have a problem, report it on the bug tracker.

I don't understand how overwriting the modules/gcheckout directory could affect the modules/editorial directory. Did you try to overwrite your entire Prestashop v1.2.5 with v1.3 RC3? That is not a good idea unless you intend to run the installer and upgrade your database to v1.3 RC3.

You should overwrite the modules/gcheckout directory only and then test whether orders are working. If they are not, then post to the bug tracker.

Mike, I could be wrong, but I'd suggest the error is with your SSL certificate rather than with prestashop. The problem you're describing means that google checkout isn't making any communication back - the validation.php doesn't actually have to do much to satisfy google to the point that it will accept the script and stop sending you the 'unsuccessful attempts' emails. I've got a stripped out version of the module I use to get google checkout working with shared ssl (its a bodged job at the moment so I'm yet to share it with the community), but I don't think that's going to help you. Check your SSL certificate is properly functioning, I have heard there are certain hosts where Google refuses to accept the SSL certificate, may be worth checking with your host. I think the problem lies with the SSL rather than the module itself, others feel free to correct me though.

Sorry for the slow reply, theres something up with your validation.php, when you follow the link it should be going to an authentication log in ie prompting for a username and password, it just shows a page error. I could see from the directory you also have http://www.earthshineelectronics.com/modules/gcheckout/validation copy.php if you follow that link you will see what I mean, it prompts for a username and password, which is entered by google checkout as part of the callback. So I would suggest reverting back to this copy (or indeed downloading a fresh copy of prestashop 1.2.5 and reuploading the whole gcheckout module). This will get rid of the error you are receiving from google, then you can begin to look at any errors within prestashop.
PS, I shouldn't be able to get a directory listing just by going to /gcheckout/, you should look into this as it could present some security problems.

This is driving me nuts now. I've sent emails to Google and to PowWeb. Both say that there is nothign wrong at their end. The shop is set up correctly with the necessary merchant ID's, etc. and yet it still doesn't work. This is very frustrating. I have customer orders that are not showing up in the store at all so can't be processed using teh store modules, etc. They do not get loyalty points so I need to make manual vouchers for them. It is just nuts.

Please please can someone from Prestastore help with this issue?!

because its silly i guess. if you read the g.checkout integration page it specifies that the URL must have certain levels of SSL or TSL encryption. i recently (today in fact) updated my g.checkout and noticed somehow my merchant ID and secure key had changed, so updating these could be a possibility.
if you have the room i'd suggest uploading a spare 'test' site which the same modules as you currently run. set it up to your google and do a test on that, so you effectively have a blank canvas to test on whther it works or not. it does sound like it could possibly be a problem with the SSL, but if as you think its presta, then a clean install and g.checkout integration check should tell you that, as it would indicate if it DOES work that is possibly something thats been done POST install by yourself or whomever edits the site...

keep us updated!

This is the response I got from PowWeb technical support (after 2 weeks) :-

Hello,

I have checked the Google checkout settings in http://www.earthshineelectronics.com/storeadmin10/ as well as in Google checkout interface. And the settings appear fine. But, for the following error:

javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path validation failed: java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: basic constraints check failed: pathLenConstraint violated - this cert must be the last cert in the certification path

It appears to be a java error.

SSL is enabled for the domain and it works fine without any issue. Please contact the application vendor, also provide us the application requirement.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. We are available 24x7.

Sincerely,

Shamika Allen

I think the PrestaShop team spends most their time in the Bug Tracker section. They rarely respond in the forums. If you want a response from the PrestaShop team, you should post this issue in the bug tracker.

ukdreamshop: funny how it works ok on mine tho with the same code...

i think you're lookin in the wrong place for the error. as rocky suggests maybe try in the bug tracker section, might get a few more answers.. or maybe its a mod you've done to the site which conflicts it.. who knows

  • 1 month later...

One of my shops is on 1.2.5 and we have exactly the same issue as MikeMc68.

Out of the box on V1.2.5.. following the instructions etc... this module does not work correctly. It may be something to do with the SSL as suggested, but I would like to hear from someone who has this version working correctly as following the instructions it does not work for me either.

Sorry this post is not more successful and has a solution for you.

Last time I checked with Powweb, ther did not support outside SSL certificates. You might want to follow that path if you are still having issues.

I'll be installing for hte first time today and was looking into see if there were any pre-setings listed. Apparently not. :)
