[SOLVED] Switching Hosting Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've just moved a prestashop v1.3.1. shop to a dedicated server on Heart Internet (our previous shop was on a Reseller account with Heart Internet also)

I've followed the usual procedure of backing up the database SQL file

The entire old site has been downloaded by ftp - including config, img folders etc

I've created a new database on the dedicated server and imported the backed up SQL file

I've also uploaded the entire old site onto the new server

The settings.inc.php file from the config folder has been updated with the new database name, username and password.

When I go to the shop on the new server I get this following error message

Invalid loadTaxZones() SQL query!

Have I missed something - does anyone know what this error message means?

This hasn't been an upgrade - both installs are v1.3.1

Hope someone can help?

Thanks in advance, best wishes

Brian

Hi Brian,

Here are two good discussions about different potential solutions to this issue:

http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/89342-invalid-loadtaxzones-sql-query-error-after-upgrade/

http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/58260-invalid-loadtaxzones-sql-query/

Please let me know if any of these suggestions work for you.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the links - It looks like its a problem with the database exporting - I compared the number of tables in the original database and the imported database.

In the original there's something like 130 tables - in the exported version only 30!

I've repeated the export and it's done the same thing??

It's not showing up any errors when exporting from phpMyAdmin even though it's not exporting all the information.

Could it be the original database (web site is still working fine) is corrupt?

I can't think what else to try - I'm currently using the export database option in phpMyAdmin?

Will I need to raise a new post or can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks again for your help

Hi Mike,

I ended up using MySQL Administrator to download the database.

This too was failing - but it did identify where the export was going wrong

I found the problem tables were the ps_connections - which I think relate to visitor stats or something?

I managed to find another post on the forum which talks about the stats settings - I'd had this set to never clear out stats.

The ps_connections table was at something like 5,000,000 rows!!

I changed the stats settings to clear out monthly, it purged loads of old stats and now I'm able to export the database successfully!

Thank goodness! - and thank you for your help

Best wishes

Brian
