PrestaShop v.1.5.0.0 Alpha1 is now available!

Recommended Posts

We just released the first Alpha version of PrestaShop v.1.5, a revolutionary new development.

Firstly, with the multi-shop feature you can manage various sites from a single back office, an extraordinary experience you’ll be quick to embrace!

We’ve also added a dispatcher, a new technical feature to increase website security by offering only one entry point for all actions performed in your shop’s front office.

Our team’s developments are continuing and progressing fast - version 1.5 is already a must-have solution for all e-traders!

v.1.5 Alpha 1 is currently available for tests but we do not recommend using it for production. A stable version 1.5 is planned for September 2011.

Read the changelog.

Features that I've missed the most are (as default):
-some more standard functionality related to discount (like Buy one get one free etc...), setting vouchers according the manufacturers (not only categories) etc...
-more functionality around product mass modifications would be much needed, like editing categories, prices, stock of all products at once etc...

Otherwise I like the Prestashop a lot and, it's been very simple to use - congratulations!

This is AWESOME news!

Can't wait for the multi-store option... we have been exploring this option within our company and something we have come to agree will be part of our future. Now we can still stay with Prestashop (which we love)... can't wait for this new version. I'm guessing this is going to be one of the major new features for PS 1.5.

Quick question... will we need to upgrade our themes?? Like when we upgrade to v1.4 we had to complete re-do our theme I think due to the Smarty 3 upgrade... will this new version require a new theme? Upgrade is no problem... but upgrading a theme consumes a lot of time and money. Basically, will PS 1.5 use Smarty 3 and will PS 1.4 themes be compatible?

Thanks!!

Anyone else having trouble installing the A1 of 1.5?

I cant get past step 4 'Shop Configuration'.

I'm not a newbie and do installs all the time for different testing purposes, just the next button does not seem to actually go any further in the installation process =(

Really want to look at the multi shop options!

Eolia is right, please use the last svn version to have this bug during install fixed :)

@mytheory. : themes will need to be updated, because of some modifications. For example, a dispatcher is now available, this mean all links need to be changed to work with the new dispatcher. We will do our best to preserve a retrocompatibility, but Prestashop 1.5 is a major version with some new big features, so it's hard to keep a perfect compatibility.

tried again, installed code from SVN and error_log file displays:

PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM in /home/userxxxx/public_html/classes/ObjectModel.php on line 686

Server software Version: Apache/2.2.19 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.19 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_bwlimited/1.4 mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.8.8
PHP Version: 5.2.17
MySQL Version: 5.1.56

need Prestashop 1.5 to support using PHP 5.2.17

So at the moment PS 1.5 only supports PHP 5.3?

I second that this new version needs to support PHP 5.2... as upgrading our entire server would be an arduous task.

Hope this is just a bug and not the PS team's intention to limit it only to PHP 5.3 compatibility. Hope it gets fixed.

I have testing it at Grafikk.org , everything installed what next , whats the use ? . Need proper document ion about how to use this feature. When you say e-trader can you provide a example , in context with version 1.5 .

When you say multi-shop do you mean i can have two shop example grafikk.org/store1 & grafikk.org/store2 or do you mean i can administer www.grafikk.org and www.xyz.com just at grafikk.org .

Or we talking in about feature like ETSY (Multi-seller) same domain various sellers or feature of Multi-shop admin with multiple domains and many owners.

I don't get it.

For people who still can't install alpha 1, I will do a lot of test on differents PHP configuration and alpha 2 will be more stable.

@ecohus : multishop will work with "grafikk.org/store1 / grafikk.org/store2" or with "http://www.grafikk.org / http://www.xyz.com", but not with the two system at same time. So the multishop system allow you to have different shops with different themes, with a common administration and shared data for example.

THANK YOU!

Would multishop work such as:

www.ABC1234.com has Sterling Silver Chains

www.HGN4455.com has Gold Chains

www.XYZ9876.com has Sterling Silver chains, Gold chains and pendants.

Back office runs on domain www.XYZ9876.com, www.HGN4455.com, www.XYZ9876.com and feeds CATALOG items over into all 3 domain/shops - orders taken via all 3 domains are processed via the back end of www.XYZ9876.com

That is strongly desired. One Back office - multi-store/shops/domain names.

Hello,

When I say multi-vendor, or shopping mall i mean the possibility for different merchants to create their own shop and manage their products, on the same platform. Like ecohus said, a shopping mall like Etsy.

Thanks!

"Got a Php error : static binding ... blabla ..."

Just comment the ObjectModel.php line 686 .... like someone has already told in this thread

I still cannot believe how 1.5.0 is fast ! What is the improvment ?

       return Db::getInstance(_PS_USE_SQL_SLAVE_)->ExecuteS($query);
   }

front office/end is displaying... however installation still does not complete - stop at step 4. Administration (employee) information is not added into database.

although front end displays, logon via admin fails, as not employees exist within database.

Hello,

Having some troubles when installing Prestashop 1.5 alpha on my server. I could install it by replacing the ObjectModel.php (I used the SVN one). I have full access to the back office, but no access to the front office. Always an error :

Fatal error: Class 'Context' not found in /xxxx/classes/ObjectModel.php on line 742
(with the SVN version of ObjectModel.php)

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM in /xxx/classes/ObjectModel.php on line 686
(with the alpha version of ObjectModel.php)

Here's the server info :

Server information
Prestashop Version: 1.5.0.0
Server information: Linux #5 SMP Tue Apr 19 13:33:01 CEST 2011 i686
Server software Version: Apache/2.2.X (OVH)
PHP Version: 5.2.17
MySQL Version: 5.0.90-log

Any help ?

I had no problem with WAMP, except that I can't test the multishop function. That's why I'm trying it on a server.

Anyway, I'm planning to use a single theme that would have a dynamic part depending on the shop. Is there a smarty variable I could use in my template to identify my shops ? For example, if I have a shop at the url www.mydomain.com/mybeautifulshop, is there a variable for "mybeautifulshop" ?

My intention is to use something like : if the current shop is 'mybeautifulshop', use 'mybeautifulshop/cssfile.css'.

Thanks for any answer ! ;)

I can't seem to get the installation to move past Step 4 (Name, country, e-mail, password, etc.). It just hangs there and clicking "Next" does nothing. It appears that the BO login credentials are not being registered either since this step is not completing; trying to login to the BO says the employee does not exist.

It is fantastic but for invoices FPDF is still used which doesn't support Unicode, people ask for TCPDF for 3 years already! Why design of invoices is in PHP? Logical would be to use some sort of templating, even HTML with mpdf would be better!

Ok - Prestashop 1.5 Alpha installs and appears to be working with PHP 5.2.17.

Step 1: Install Prestashop 1.4.4

Step 2: Download SVN of Prestashop 1.5 Alpha

Step 3: Upload 1.5 to site

Step 4: Install using domain.com/install-dev

Installed fine. Now to go explore the Alpha Version.

Ensure you rename the: admin-dev folder, delete the install-dev folder as well.

THANK YOU!

Commented out the lines 686 and 687. Fronted blank page, log-in not possible. User or Password not on database, although I receive my mail confirmation for it too.

Dear Administrators of Prestashop:

We wish to inform us of the estimated date of the release of PrestaShop 1.5, all forums and feedback we've found talking about September 2011, but to date we have found no more updates about it.

You have estimated date?

Thank you very much.

Dear Friends.

I was very delighted to know that the multi-shop feature is introduced in v.1.5.

If it is the thing I'm expecting then I'd like to propose some ideas on how to unite PrestaShop users and developers to begin a movement toward the PrestaShop Internatinal business creation.

Please let us know more about the "multi-shop" functionality.

Kind regards,

Eligius.
