prestashop 1.6 or 1.7

I am new to prestashop, should I build with 1.6 or 1.7 for my client?

Updating 1.6 to 1.7 can give you some work, so for a new shop, I would definitely go for 1.7

Just try both versions and you will see.

I tried both, 1.7 with default setup, and I do not see big differences

Shops are different in detail. Go ahead with payment modules, other modules, a professional theme, etc and do real orders. You will see.

I used for more than 1 year 1.6. I am now building one with 1.7.

My advise is to go for the 1.7. The only thing thats bad on 1.7 is that you will not have a reviews tab. On the 1.6 it's much easer and also for free, but everything on the 1.7 looks better and working with it is much easer.
