search for: content_price in product_list.tpl, if you have no use for the price you should be able to just comment out those blocks completely. It'll be in 2 places in the default theme depending on whether the product is displayed in grid or list format.

There's some javascript processing this file to display in grid or list format, check global.js in your theme.  Lines 290 & 320 in the default theme.  If you've commented out the fields correctly not sure how this javascript can find the necessary fields to build the page.
