Use Custom Text Block twice

Hey there,

im new to PS. How can i use the custom text block twice but with diferent content.

Do i need to copy the module in anyway, rewrite it? Because it can obviously only used once for only 1 position.

Do i need a copy of the module , renamed and rewritten to a new module?

copy&rename the module to for example, ps_customtext2 then change in the php files all the instances of "ps_customtext" to "ps_customtext".

Install the new module and hook it where you need it.

If your "custom text block" module is placing text content wherever you want to - you can generate any number of contentBox modules with your name and simply upload it to your store.

I have tried that but it only shows the default content of the custom text block as it recalls the same element from the database of the main module. I think i have to change something in the PHP file to set a different database for the new copied module. Can you kindly give me an idea how to do that?

Well, if the module uses a table of its own then of course you need to change that table name (everywhere in your cloned module files) so that when installing it it would create that table and use it to store its own data.

I was trying to duplicate the core module. But, I couldn't make the module work. i am attaching the module file here. if anyone kindly check it and suggest me what can i do to fix it.

Shouldn't that read change in the php files all the instances of "ps_customtext" to "ps_customtext2" (or whatever you've changed the name to)??
