Installation problem

Hi. I' m Manolis from Greece and i have problem to install this excellent software.

 

My server is no support this future:

 

Allowed to open external URLs

 

I contact with them and they told me that they can't open this future for security reasons.

 

What can i do now?

I have the same problem on mediatemple... Though i didn't ask them for the solution yet.

 

And I have a question.

 

What kind of URL does the shop have to open? Can I use it without this function?

OK, i've looked around a bit and as far as i can understand the problem is in php.ini. In that ini we should change something that would allow external url's.

 

I thought it was that safe_mode=on/off but i think that is something different. Unfortunatly i don't have any php experiance and would be very happy if anyone coulde give me some instruction on how to fix this....

Please can you tell us all in detail what the problem actually is ?

Have you succesfully installed Prestashop :question:
Have you come across any error messages :question:
is your server compatible which should be checked on install :question:

otherwise create a blank file called phpinfo.php
& drop the following into this:

<?php phpinfo() ?>

upload phpinfo.php to root directory.
this will then show you all your settings for PHP & MYSQL etc. ;-)
