Can Prestashop handle 27 quadrillion combinations?

One of the products the client sells uses 6 different areas where the customer can select a fabric - and there are 549 different fabrics.

That means there is a total of 27 quadrillion possible combinations (27 million billion or 17 decimal digits). 549 to the power of 6 ...

Does that mean every possible combination would need to be created (auto generated)? Can Prestashop even handle that many ?

Or is there a better way to manage such a product?

Thanks,

There is, usually each fabric does not need to be used as a combination, because each fabric does not affect the price. Rather the fabric group. So you can make combinations only for groups of fabric, and then develop some tool to help the customer select a fabric from a group.

Example: https://umeblowani24.pl/narozniki/10482-cosmo-naroznik-rozkladany-z-pojemnikiem.html

Another vote for Attribute Wizard Pro, think it will create just 549 + 6 attribute groups.

Note 549 is still large number  for one user input, so you may think a bit about displaying that

to customers.

But check AWP demo and see how it works for you.

The module named before "Attribut Wizard Pro" only creates combinations, but does not manage already created (price increase, etc.)

I suggest you to use Presta Store Manager. With this you can import by csv inumerous combinations, with own prices at once. The surplus of PSM is that you can also manage (and not only create combinations) price reductions/price increases, or other changes by mass (by Import or features on board, like round to XX,99 prices). PSM uses own scripts, like the attribute wizard for to write the combinations into database.

If Prestashop supports such high value of combinations ? Yes it does, but not on a shared hosting. For this you need to use a root VPS or at least a dedicated server. On a shared hosting this is not possible.

One of the shops I'm administrating has about half million of combinations. It's running on a root VPS with ngnix over Apache module. Changes on products are made by automatic feed via csv-file and PSM. The automatic import is an extra module of the PSM.

Link to PSM you find in my signature.
