Moved to new server. Lots of problems.

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I migrated to a new server because of limitations at the old one.

Since migration, there have been a couple issues that have been baffling me.

1) In the back end, the stats dashboard continually loads, and never completes loading (arrows keep spinning, no stats are retrieved)

2) (I'm not sure if this was broken before the move) In customer registration, the State and Zipcode fields are missing but these are required items so customers cannot register an account.

3) In the frontend, on the main page Popullar, New Arrivals, and Best Sellers are supposed to be already active and expanded but you have to click on one of them to show.

4) On product category pages, I cannot sort products by price, name, etc. Nothing happens.

Have you ever run PS on new server?  If not:

create  a subdomain  of your existing shop or use spare domain name.

download your version of ps, see top  right of this screem to download (scroll down if you  need older version)

create a db you can use

then upload the ps files and run an installation, ps then checks the server for compatibility and can possible tell you if issue.

-----

note on old shop you can if 1.6 for example, go to back office-->advanced parms-->configuration information  There might be useful information as well.

ReferenceError: in_array is not defined

What is the JavaScript equivalent of "in_array"?

- Open your website in FF or Chrome

- press F12

- go to console tab

- notice the in_array error

- ajdust global.js to work with a JS function not a PHP method

Thanks for your replies. I've diagnosed and fixed the issue

Just in case someone has the same issue....

Somehow, and I know I did not do this... but my /js/ folder in my site directory was deleted.

I had a hosting tech looking at another issue for me, and I am wondering if they deleted the directory. I can't believe they would delete a directory without checking with me... it almost seems like sabotage.
