sarahNG
If a customer spends enough to qualify for free postage, how can I offer them the chance to 'upgrade' to a paid, faster delivery service?
Chris Mok
Hi sarahNG, I reckon you need to create another carrier for it.
NemoPS
Create a "premium" customer group, and assign those customers to it. Then have the carrier be available to that customer group only
sarahNG
No, what I want is that when a customer spends more than £50 & qualifies for free postage, they are offered a free courier service, then if they wish to 'upgrade' to a faster service they can opt to pay for the postage. So, Free Delivery may be - Standard Courier Service which may take 3-5 days, but they can choose to pay extra for Royal Mail's *Next Day Delivery*. NemoPS
Ah, in this case setup a carrier with a 50 gbp minimum price as range, and make sure you set the out of range behavior to disable carrier. It should not appear for orders below

It should not appear for orders below 50 I've tried this. The new carrier then shows up for free. I want to offer the choice of a free courier service (takes 3-5 days) or the chance to pay to have it sent by Royal Mail (takes 1-3 days, but is *much* more expensive). sarahNG
Right, hang on, I think I've finally understood what you mean. If I create a both free & paid delivery options as new carriers that only show up on orders over £50, that should work, right?? ETA: I can't make this work either as prices on the paid service will differ according to the weight of the parcel & if I set range to price over £50, then I can't include the various weight ranges. Gah! Getting frustrated now. Edited June 18, 2015 by sarahNG (see edit history)
bellini13
thats correct. remove the value from the "free shipping" fields, and then just configure your carriers price ranges accordingly
