AndyCZ
When I change order status to Shipped, the customer will get email notification (template "in_transit" ) with tracking link but there is no tracking number I setup in admin before. If I look into the code, there is no attribute added to add tracking number. You can track your package using the following link: <a href="{followup}" style="color:#337ff1">{followup}</a> I tried add {tacking_number} and {shipping_number} just after the line but none of this work, it just add after the link {tracking_number} or {shipping_number}. Any ideas how to get this work? Edited April 14, 2015 by AndyCZ (see edit history)
bellini13
Did you update your Carrier to include a tracking URL? Prestashop does not just provide the tracking number you enter, it provides a URL with the tracking number included in the URL
PascalVG
More info on tracking numbers in this topic: https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/136613-send-tracking-number-details-to-customers/
AndyCZ
The tracking URL is definetely setup. Thank you PascalVG but this topic not answering my question. What I was asking is how to add tracking number inside the tracking URL or just after that? The prestashop send customer information that goods have been shipped and here it is tracking url but no tracking number on it. I need to add tracking number to URL which is pre-setup in my admin before oreder updated to status Shipped.
bellini13
Please show what you are using as the tracking URL in the carrier. Does it include the @ where you want the tracking number to be added?
AndyCZ
No, it doesn't. Two carriers for example: https://gls-group.eu/CZ/cs/sledovani-zasilek?match= https://www.postaonline.cz/trackandtrace/-/zasilka/cislo?parcelNumbers= The link is working, I just need to get this tracking number to it. This is what customer receive in email, see picture.
bellini13
Then I suggest you read more closely the instructions for the tracking URL. It says to type @ where the tracking number should appear, and then Prestashop will automatically replace the @ with the tracking number
AndyCZ
Thank you bellini13 . Will follow up your instruction.
AndyCZ
I marked this topic as solved however there is still bug with url appearing when you edit your carrier. So how many times you edit your carriers, so many entries appear in your DB and track carriers number will stop working. This issue has been solved on PS 1.5 here and bug for PS 1.6. reported here . Please point me to the right direction if there is any solution how to solve this? P.S. For myself I manage to solve this by manualy deleling the duplicate entries in DB. This would work until I forget to edit my carriers in future .
bellini13
If I understand properly, you are referring to the "duplicate" carrier entries? If so, then this is working as intended. If you delete the "duplicate" carriers, you are actually breaking historic orders that reference these carriers.
AndyCZ
Thanks bellini13! Yes you are right. The entries are duplicating in DB for each carrier I edit. I did not presume that prestashop doing this on purpose. I dare to presume that these enties would be hundreds for some time using. I did not started my eshop yet and through testing had more then 130 entries. But anyway thanks for the help.
bellini13
Everytime you change a carrier, a new carrier record is created and the original is hidden. Everytime you delete a carrier, the carrier is just hidden. This is because you might have orders that have used these carriers. Let's say you changed Carrier A cost from $10 to $15. Or let's say you changed the Carrier name from UPS to Fedex. Those changes would have a negative impact on orders that have been placed already. This is why Prestashop hides the original carrier, and creates a new one. The same thing occurs with Customer Addresses. Of course a customer can change their address information, but if that address was used in a previous order, then it would have an adverse impact to that order. So again, if the customer address is changed or deleted, a new address record is created and the original is hidden.
