Is customer´s credit card charged while the order is not approved yet

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

Sorry if this is a repeat question. I´ve found nothing.

What happens to the customer´s credit card when he places an order, but the admin has not approved it yet? Is he already charged or he will be charged when the admin has approved that order?

Thank you a lot!

so which payment module are you using?

I am not using anything yet.

Just got an order from a customer who needs his store to work in the way as customers are not charged until the admin accepts the order.

Do you guys know what payment methods work in this way?

Thank you!

And how would they be charged?  Are they paying with a credit card?  What other forms of payment are accepted?

Does the customer have to provide the payment information during checkout?  Or would they be invoiced later?

You need to define your requirements better, and you will get better support.

I mean customer's credit card will be charged when an order is approved.

Yes, customers will provide credit card information upon checking out.

Forms of payment are PayPal, Visa, MasterCard.

Thank you!

Paypal will collect the funds immediately.

You could look into other payment gateways that would allow you to verify the card details, authorize the transaction, but settle only after the order is verified and shipped.  If not verified, or not shipped, then you could void the authorization
