JohnWinch42
Hello, I'm trying to migrate my prestashop to an other hosting but when doing that all my downloadable files get corrupted and I have to re-insert them! Is there a way to safely migrate a prestashop site with its downloadable content? thanks you for help! Best regards,

JohnWinch42
what is your PrestaShop version? Version 1.3.7.
PrestaHeroes USA
did you first install a vanilla (downloaded version of 1.3.6.0) on your new server? running the installer first will check if your hosting environment has all the bits needed for ps. the reason is, that the migration should have not been an issue. Do you have any more details about the corruption? mysq db table yourprefix_product_download points to each products download in download/physically_filename I did some searching on this and didn't see any obvious similar issue. I did not install a prestashop, I transferred the existing files.
PrestaHeroes USA
have you run a ps on the new server yet? I'm just pointing out it's a good idea to run the installer on first time hosting accounts as it checks for the features required by ps.

PrestaHeroes USA
ok, sorry I have to ask some of the more basic stuff...first and then I will be of even less help as I can tell you I have moved shops with virtual, without a problem. You did not answer in what way were they corrupt also did you check your table that contains the cryptic file name in downloads?
bellini13
when you migrated the store to a different server, did you use FTP to upload all the files? Including the files in the download folder? If so, they were likely uploaded in ascii mode, and it would required binary mode.
