Sending a message to a customer who hasn't ordered

Why is there no way to send a message to a customer on the backend unless you are on the order details page? Unless I just can't find it.

 

What if I want to send a message to customer who has created a cart and registered but never completed the order?

 

Shouldn't there be somewhere in the customer service area to message any customer who is registered on your site?

 

Again, maybe I'm just missing it.

 

I'm using PS 1.5.2
