How to make the category & sub category visible at side page

Hello,

 

I want to make all the category and sub category visible on the side of my page.

Try to look into module and change it but failed. My current side page look like this;

 

I want it to be like this;

 

Can anyone assist me? Thank you.

It should be enough to enable the categories module, then go to modules -> positions and click "transplant a hook", select Categories blocdk and add it to the right column blocks

Hi Nemo1,

 

There are 2 category module. Which one should I enable?

1) Categories block or

2) Products Category

I already figure it out. DONE! Thank you. After I add it to right column blocks . I just use LIVE EDIT after it to move it manually.

Now my question is;

1) How to change the Main category color as above picture? I go to : themeXXX/modules/blockcategories but i dont know at which line should i add to change the color.

What do you exactly mean by "main category"? One which has subcategories? If so, you must edit global.css or blockcategories.css, and add something like ul.tree > li {color: #bbffcc}

 

Of course, add your chosen color

Hi hyree, for a live store I would be careful with the Live Edit feature. It is always safer to use Modules>Positions>Transplant a Module

What I mean is how to change the color for the category as below?

The category color below is pink while the sub is black. Can you advice. Thank you.

In this case you can use the code I posted above, but change the color hex

It's IMHO that The black and pink look absolutely great.

 

It differentiates the Label "Categories" from the actual categories....I would be confused if they were all the same color.

 

Have these two colors work great for me, it is up to you but that is my consideration.

 

Nemo1, what do you think? Do you think it should all be the same color?

Well, whether it's pink or not depends on the theme. Generally, it's a good idea to differentiate the two, so I can second Benjamin

I tried to edit blockcategories.css. ....themes/themeXXX/css/modules/blockcategories/blockcategories.css

 

But in blockcategories.css has only 2 empty line. How to edit?
