jhnstcks
I have been thinking of creating various different homepage layouts, which will be intergrated into a homefeatured module using its own css file.It would mean you could periodically change your homefeatured products layout without much difficulty.Would this be useful for anyone? thpoul
Something like gamespot.com changing themes on index depending on the game? If that's what you mean it would be very useful!
jhnstcks
No i just mean different modules that represent different types of featured products layout, instead of users having to go through the global.css file finding all the right bits to change. Cédric Girard
HiThere're lots of possibilities to show homefeatured products, but I have a doubt about only changing CSS rules... For example on mastermateriel (see my signature), I had to change profundly the homefeatured block, not only the CSS !But it's an idea
rocho
I have been thinking of creating various different homepage layouts, which will be intergrated into a homefeatured module using its own css file.It would mean you could periodically change your homefeatured products layout without much difficulty.Would this be useful for anyone? it would be great to have a module to choose product list layout not only the featured products...in my case, i have been looking for product list layout, grid 3 per line with short description that respects the text format (like line spaces)have you still have the idea to contribute with ths great module thank you very much
Ardian Yuli Setyanto
usually people prefer consistent website layout better than auto selected ones. But it's very personal, just provide the module and people will appreciate your works
jhnstcks
in my case, i have been looking for product list layout, grid 3 per line with short description that respects the text format (like line spaces) HTML in the short description is removed when it is displayed on the front-end and seems to be hard-coded into the software somewhere. I suspect it is in the product.php file in the classes folder. But I dont know alot about php or smarty so dont really know what to alter to stop the html being stripped out.I suppose I could alter the layout and add short description, but it would make the box a lot bigger. rocky
I think it is the following code in modules/homefeatured/homefeatured.tpl that is stripping out the tags in the Home Featured module: {$product.description_short|strip_tags|truncate:130:'...'} Remove |strip_tags and it should leave the tags in.
