What's the Best Export/Import Product Module to Buy?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

It's come time now for us to speed up product loading times. It's really manual atm using the out-of-the-box load tool. It's a little hard to get the combinations and it cant load features really that well.

We want to buy a addon that lets us rapidly upload new products, combinations and features. I've seen Store Manager. Anyone had any experience with this?

I'm really calling on the strength of the Prestashop community to help us quickly pick a addon to buy. Our budget is up too $1000.

Please help as there are so many out there. Basically the most we've done so far it a google search and also looking into the prestashop's addons site.

Please help. We have around 5000 new products and images we need to load. :)

We are running 1.4.7.

Hey - thanks for your feedback! :)

Yes, we started off with that but non-technical people can't really use it. The guy who will look after the uploads is soert of non-technical buyt pretty good with excel.

The default tool struggles with features and combination plus you need to know all the id's

Hi, I bought Store Commander, still getting the hang of it. But support has been good. They just released some documentation that gives you a glimpse as to what it can do.

if that fails,

hope that helps

I'm interested if anyone can suggest a module as chetwyn originally requested as we have a lot of users around the country uploading products so a program like Store Commander doesn't really work for us (besides it's a little over budget :( )

Most users would be fine with Excel, so surely there must be something to simply import a excel sheet?

Thing that that concerns me is how you get the images in without a lot of work...

Hi all,

I'm getting my head around this a little. Getting images in is OK with the standard prestasop CSV import, as is features... not so good combinations.

Features: we add them to the end of our excel (as you need to customise them on import to tell the importer what the feature is called). ONly adds one feature item per feature group though (e.g. a dress can only be red not red AND blue)

Images: Just upload them to a directory (that isn't going to move) and specify the url. The add these (comma separated) to your excel file. e.g. http://sitenam/imagedirectory/product.jpg

Combinations: No way to get these in by default it seems... need to add them after the fact. Bought the clone combinations module to save time with this (we have a lot of products with similar combinations) - after 10 minute's use it seems very good!

Cheers!
