I'm having trouble making the categories images appear. I have edited the images according to the theme, so they would fit. I'm using the template 1.4.5 of prestashop in version 1.4.8.2 and I've tried regenerating thumbnails, turn Force compile on and Cache off. I have tried different photos, but still...

Any help would be gladly appreciated.

Thanks!

In that case, please try the suggestions posted here and let us know if that works any better for you.

I followed what was posted there, the images in the default theme appear... Then I went to the preferences|images and edited the category width and height, and regenerated the thumbnails. Still I can't see them.

I noticed that the width and height of the large pictures is set to 264 x 264 and in the edit section the category was checked. I decided to try unchecking it and to regenerate all the thumbnails. It's been like ten minutes since and it haven't finished. so right now I can't enable it :/

OK, well let us know once it has been re-enabled and we'll be happy to try to check this out for you further.

Mike... I just found out that the only thing I was missing, so the images could appear, was a description info. :blink: I just wrote something, save, refresh, and that's it. Lol.

Anyway Mike, thanks for your attention and helping me solve the problem.

Nice day!

Which customizations? :wacko: The counter I tried to put at the bottom I removed it (didn't worked lol). The rest of the template is as it comes... I think.

I couldn't tell you because it's your site, but there are a few things in and around the header of the page that do not look like the default setup. Please try my above suggestion and let me know if that works any better for you.

At the header I have the search bar and the Logo, that's just an image. I found out the problem...and I still can't believe it was just this:

  • 1 month later...

I visited your page and using the inspect element tool of chrome I didn't see the

<div class="content_scene_cat">

<!-- Category image -->

<div class="align_center">

<img src="/c/5-category/especias-jar.jpg" alt="ESPECIAS - JAR" title="ESPECIAS - JAR" id="categoryImage" width="523" height="150">

</div>

<div class="cat_desc">

<p>ESPECIAS</p>

<a href="#" class="lnk_more">Más</a>

</div>

</div>

(this is an example of my page btw.)

That's were the image is supposed to be. Try again going to your backoffice. Go to the Catalog tab and choose the first Category and click Edit. Try any 523 x 150 pixels image. After that, on the same page, right on top of the image you uploaded, try writing any description. Save.

Then, go to Preferences/Performance and turn on Force Compile and off Cache. Go to your page and Reload (F5). Go to that category and verify if it appears. (Remember to turn off the Force Compile and on the Cache afterwards).
