[Resolved] Themes That Don't Support Spanish, Can We Update To Support?

Recommended Posts

we are shopping for a theme, we found several we liked in the offical ps add'ons, but they only supported say French/English. We need our template to support Spanish.

Is it a lot of work, if Spanish savvy, to add Spanish using the ps back end translation manger? Or is it something we should avoid? Please help!

also if anyone knows of a good template maker that includes Spanish in their templates so I don't have to be disappointed each time I like something and then to find out Spanish is not supported, please let us know.

and if it helps, price it not our issue.

Thanks in advanced, signed

Hi elpatron,

What themes are you looking at specifically? When a theme on our Addons store says it is "Supported" in certain languages, what that means is that the developer himself is fluent in those languages and thus can comfortably provide support for you in those languages.

Most themes stick to the same translations as the rest of PrestaShop, and for anything you would like to translate manually (even in your current installation), you can do that through your Back Office under Tools > Translations.

I hope this helps.

Ah, I see. What that means is that those specific templates have been translated by the original developer only into English. However, if you scroll down to the bottom of either of those product pages, you'll see the following message:

All of our themes can be translated in any language by using the translation tool integrated in PrestaShop back office, even if it is not supplied by the seller.

As I mentioned above, you can translate ANYTHING in PrestaShop through the Back Office under Tools > Translation. Not only will that give you the ability to translate any specific phrase or message by hand, but if you're feeling adventurous, you can even use the built-in Google Translate function to speed up the process or at least provide you with a better starting point for your translations.

seems we may be somewhat ahead of the curve on version as well...1.4.6.2, as most of the themes are for older versions. I'd expect (fingers crossed) a theme that supports 1.4.5 would handle 1.4.6.2.

This would be something to take up with the individual developers of these modules, as I would not feel comfortable speaking for someone else's hard work without giving them a chance to respond for themselves first.
