[Solved] Cannot enable SSL

Recommended Posts

I have Prestashop v.1.4.3 and when I go to enable SSL, I click on "Please click here to use HTTPS protocol before enabling SSL", and the radio button that usually appears to enable SSL does not appear, even though I am accessing the page via https - what is the problem? This wasn't an issue with v. 1.4.2

Please help! I need to go live with my site today and this is the only thing holding me back! Maybe as a stop gap someone could tell me where I can change the setting in the code. I have looked in the usual settings file and the enable SSL info doesn't seem to be controlled from there

OK, well I found where to enable SSL in the databse, but now I have it enabled the site hangs whenever it tries to redirect to the https. If I put in the domain with https, it opens fine, so it is not an issue with the SSL itself. What is making Prestashop hang like this? Do I need to change something else as well as changing PS_SSL_ENABLED in ps_configuration table to 1? Or is this issue what is causing me problems with enabling SSL in the first place?

I have exactly the same problem! 2 weeks ago I have tested my payments with Paypal Sandbox. Now each time I try to make a payement through Paypal Express I get the message: Not logged (even if I already set up Enable guest checkout as ON)

When I look into BO > Preferences at the SSL I have: Please click here to use HTTPS protocol before enabling SSL.

I urgently need to set up to sail the shop but I can't. Is this a hosting setting changed? I mention I have been able to process 2 weeks ago.

when I wantplace the order via Paypal I get the message Not logged but when I replace https instead http in the browser address bar I get the message: SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.

What could be the reason?

i am having the same issue regarding this.. I changed the ssl settings from the database.

i am having a strange issue (for which i will be creating a new thread as well) , the issue is that when the ssl is disabled. i can access the order page (after clicking on checkout). It shows be everything in the cart and works perfectly . Even if i manually run the url with HTTPs link . it works without any SSL issue. But when i enable it from Back Office or Database .. it gives me this issue :

Error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS): There were too many redirects.

Finally figured out the host needs $_SERVER[‘SSL’]) instead of $_SERVER[‘HTTPS’]) on the admin file tab! :)

VERY grateful for some clarification on this. Where is the 'admin file tab'? Is this something a hosting company has to do or is it something within Prestashop or the database?

EDIT:-

Ok so I've run a search through Dreamweaver and found all the $_SERVER['HTTPS'] references. Which one needs changing to ['SSL'] or do they ALL need changing?

Image attached shows (if I've done the attachement right!) the DW search results.

Thanks for any help offered.

Hi altinhus - I sent you a PM with details of the person who helped me with SSL issues

I asked his permission to send this by PM to you.

NOTE: Anyone else looking for this, please note I don't monitor these forums or the email notifications often so it was by chance I saw this. If you are looking for the details however, hopefully altinhus will help you if I can't...

I am having this same issue. For some reason I get a SSL_BAD_SEC_ERROR. Basically stating that My SSL is not for my site but for my hosting company. ALso When exception is made I get only a black screen. WHat may be the issue? I have looked at all the posts above but am not finding the solutions helpful.
