TAXES PS 1.4.1 - not working?

Recommended Posts

I have problem with calculating tax on products in 1.4.1. I set up tax (TX) and created tax rule, then apply it when adding items but the price after tax is showing the same as before tax... Tried many times/diff. products - same thing.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Please help!

Thanks

1.4.1 had a tax bug I posted a thread time ago:
http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/107388/configuring___using_prestashop/1_dot_4_dot_1_tax_rules_dont_work

Now with 1.4.2 price updated correctly when you log in a as a customer from a no tax country. But I found that while correct price is now shown without tax, the words "tax included" still appears everything on product, on cart and invoice...

Thanks so much for reply. My front end also says 'prices are tax included' (on product page, cart, etc) even though no tax is actually calculated/applied in the BO??

Not sure what it means 'logging in as a USA customer', I just noticed this is not working in the BO while adding products & displayed incorrectly at the front end (see screenshot attached). Is this the same problem.. If there is indeed a bug then I can't believe not many people noticed it!! It's pretty serious.

The thread is unfortunately in french.... so does that code mentioned there works & where exactly should I put it? Or should I just upgrade to 1.4.2 but you mention it still has problems there & I've heard unpleasant stories about upgrading.. so would prefer to wait a little on that.

PS: now noticed it's adding shipping cost... and I set it up as free

Hi, can anyone help with this problem please. I tried everything & it's still not calculating it. But has a message 'tax included'. Is this really a bug in 1.4.1???

Do I HAVE to upgrade to 1.4.2? I just uploaded the 1.4.1 when it came out recently!! What am I supposed to do with the 1.4.1 theme & all the paid modules.... Urrrh... very frustrating.

thx

PS: it would be great to have option of either having 'tax included' or 'tax not included' on product pages, shopping cart, etc.

Exact same problem here. I create and apply the tax rule but even in the admin area it doesn't show both the tax-free and taxed prices correctly. Not sure what I'm doing wrong but since it is such a major problem I have had to look to another shopping solution.

Hi

using 1.4.3

I couldn't find any theme.tpl file, search thru all of the folders.

But I was able to edit product.tpl, and a bund of other files, and removed the tax inc, tax excl.

however, It still displays in the product detail page

Where else should I look ?

Thank you for your time
Walt

Hi

I see and know that

So I edited a bunch of other *.tpl files in the themes folder, and there we at least 6 tpls with tax exc, and tax inc
in there, where I blanked them out.

but....

In the Product detail page, I continue to get the "tax..." displayed next to the price.

I am surprised that this is actually hard coded in, rather than a variable being used.

Any suggestions ?

thanks
Walt

Do you have force compile turned on? If not turn it on and try again.

You can change it using translations as I already stated. Just change the translation so that no value appears.
