Prestashop redirects to CNN article?

Recommended Posts

Hello,
I tried to add new topic regarding my problem with prestashop 1.4 update and since I clicked SUBMIT button I can only see not some CNN article about spam that goes to jail, article is from 2009 year... is that mean your site has been hacked or something? I managed to create another account in different browser and will try to add this message now

This is worse spam machine I came across over the internet. Because of it's stupidity, my account has been blocked now and I had to create another one. I did not even paste any links, just wanted to find a solution for my problem. Why you won't consider any other spam solution? When I saw redirection to CNN website I was sure your website has been hacked or something. I'm sure I am not alone here and many other people has been banned for no reason

Dear Charlie,

This anti-spam script is catching 99% of the forum spams, and sometimes (2 or 3 times per month) we have false positive.

We are handling these situations manually as fast as possible, I really apologize for what happened to you.

If you would like, I can take some time to merge your two accounts, let me know by PM.

Regards,

Sorry, Bruno, but this solution is plain ridiculous. I was just trying to post a question and got caught by the script as well. And just because I've written the words TV and Video Games.

Instead of redirecting the users, give them a warning, for god's sake.

Hi João,

I've just gone through all our forum settings, but was unable to find where this may be causing you an issue. Can you please PM me with the content of what you tried to post so that I can run some tests and determine what is happening in your post? I've spent a good deal of time reconfiguring the various spam filters based on spam trends here on the forums, and if your post just said TV and/or video games, you should not have this sort of issue.

And just to confirm, you also got redirected to that CNN article, correct?

Hi Mike,

Yes, I got redirected as well. I don't have the original message anymore, but I'm pretty sure I have just removed the words TV and Video Games from the topic and title as well. This is the thread (I replaced these words by "electronics" to give the example): http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/173396-combination-on-all-products-voltage-selection-problem/page__p__851137?do=findComment&comment=851137

The spam filter itself is not a problem at all, but the user should be warned instead of redirected. Redirection is just mean.

Thanks,

João

Understood, and I will look into this for you because while we've had other issues in the past relating to our fight to combat spammers on the forums, this is something I was not aware of.

I'll let you know as soon as I have any additional information.

-Mike
