  1. i am having a problem in 1.4.6.2 i can import products in which show up in the backend but do not show up in front end. I can get them to show up if i go in the back-end and click save they then show. I have 8k products to add would take a long time opening them all up and then saving them all. I thought the problem may be i didnt have the active field in so i put that in but nope still doesn't show in the front end, Any ideas ? I can import my products in the categories by using the category id, that works for me but i cannot get them to display in the front end.
  2. Hi Guys, Solved it thought i would put my findings up even though it was a stupid mistake on my part, when i did it manually i placed my new installation in a a folder calle "dev" when i updated it it updated my main site files so when i deleted them and replaced everything in the root from the "dev" folder. Everything was fine except for one slight difference in the COOKIE_KEY replaced it with the settings.inc.php that was created on the main site during install and it works perfectly now
  3. Hi Guys, Just done this upgrade i did it manually everything went ok and seems fine i am having a problem when i add a product adding to the home category no problem but the moment i change to a different category even when i make sure that is also now the default category i get this error: 1 error product must be in the default category Also when i try to add a new category under another category i get this error: the field id_parent is invalid My knowledge of php is very limited so this may be something simple anyone have any ideas or getting the same problem ?
  4. Hi Guys, I solved my problem changing the following lines in images.inc.php Change this line: if (empty($mimeType) OR $mimeType == 'regular file') To this: if (empty($mimeType) OR $mimeType == 'regular file' OR $mimeType == 'text/plain') Worked for me
  5. I'm with you on prestabug i am finding all sorts of little errors i found a fix for it which seems to work if you go to stock management and change it to increase and save then change back to order you dont have to do it every time you add a product and images. Added 15 products since then still seems to work ok. So glad i am testing this in a local host!!!
  6. Thanks for this tip this together with google age speed helps to drasticaly improve the speed!
  7. What did you do to fix this issue i have this problem on a local server to revive your pages have you tried regenerating you htaccess file ?
  8. Hi Guys, I too get this problem when trying to add imagaes to products i can create a new product but the moment i add an image to that product or any exsisting product i get the same error message.
  9. You make an interesting point it would only be good if you had no very many products which you knew were not the same name.
  10. I have the same issue with my site but i didn't think that much of it but ill try the sitemap thing and have a look for dead pages.
  11. I am not sure it makes that much of a huge difference to be fair. As i'm sure if it did prestashop wouldn't let it appear in the seo links. All though I could be wrong be interesting to see what people say about this.
  12. Just testing yahoo y slow i quite like google page speed as it checks for compressed images and then shows you how much they can be compressed by and gives you a compressed version of the image which is great! The only thing is y slow gives my site a reading of 72/100 where as google page speed says its 85/100 so trying to see how specific each of them is. Great tools tho!
  13. Hi Guys, I have the same problem but no groups are showing for me to tick. I did a new installation and dropped my database in to restore all my customers and orders when i change a category like add an image the category becomes none accessible and i get the error "you do not have access to this category" I think its something to do with file permissions to allow categories for group access can someone help me by telling me which files need the correct permissions or do any of you have any other ideas? Thanks in advance
  14. I agree with Cip Boy. I never pasyed much attention to security my site has been hacked twice now i am taking every precaution with security i ran an Acunetix Web scan on a fresh instalation of prestashop. it showed severaly vunuaralbilities with order.php and zoom.php as i' don't have exstensive knowledge about prestashop files and how they work this may be because ssl was not set up of the prestashop instalation and order.php will be incharge of holding informatio email telephone and addesses. I now am taking every precaution with security: i brought a new server with a friend of mine and we have set up a pilot server which is the only connection between us and the server. So we need to access that to access the main server. More security than fork nocks i'm reading tons of forums about server firewalls and anti virus.
