Edit subcategories in top menu banner

Hi.

I am using the default theme of prestashop 1.6.

I actually would like to remove the whitespace in my subcategories and place my subcategories under eachother in stead of next to eachother. Its probably a small tweak but I have no clue how to do it

Remove width:100% from .sf-menu > li > ul
Then remove float: left from .sf-menu > li > ul > li

The only problem now is that the list is way to big. It covers the whole page.

I want a maximum height. 

 

Is there a way to add an if statements that does the folowwing:

If Category has more then 1 parent subcategory - Count how many and loop over each parent subcategory and check how many child subcategories the parent subcategorie has. 

If the parent subcategory has more then 15 child subcategories THEN put the next category to the right.

 

It would also be nice if the sub category block could stand right under the category you click
