don't install PS 1.7 until it works properly

made the mistake of installing ps 1.7

wasted time and money, there are bugs and addons developers are aware yet they still try to sell you their addons

I've been trying to fix problems with addons but the only answer I get is 'the problem is with PS not in our addon'

Do yourself a favor and stop supporting PS until they fix base problems

just stay with Ps 1.6 for now

there are many problems in ps 1.7, mostly related to taxes, shipping. purchasing addons just make it worst. some addons need overrides to fix problems caused by PS. Those that write addons should get together and ask PS to fix problems. Cant expect people to buy addons for PS if it has bugs

PS 1.7 is working for a 'lot' of people.....you write once a week how it does not work for you.....

as most know you  are not here to seek help from community but to be anti-PS anti-PS 1.7 which is not what this community is for.  If you cannot solve a particular issue then post what the issue is....now you just throw mud and hope it sticks....also your community name here tells us all we need to know, you are a troll.

as retired US Moderation, it's very difficult to get banned.....again this is a community not a place to stand on your box and yell about ps...

if you want to do that  go to forge or github or official ps blog...but leave the community out of it...there are some that really mis-used this forum as it pertained to 1.7...not productive....and poor community members.....and for the most part they are off on their own...which they should have done rather than made a year long public outcry to community, which I  think is against the spirit of what the forum is for.

my suggest to PS is to close down the forum, magento did and 2 years later got bought out  by adobe for 1+ billion dollars.....they had same issues, a few who cannot manage all facets of their shops

it's called frustration. Started using PS in 2011, no way to contact developers. Seen too many free features turn into expensive addons. Had to wait 6 years for an addon that was essential to my site. There is still no way to upgrade from one version to another. Only way to upgrade is not change anything and live with the bugs. Developers should join this forum and help users fix their problems, they will get more people using PS

PS 1.7 has issues some minor, some bigger ones but if you're careful of which modules etc you buy or install you can limit it. What i don't understand is how some developers get to sell Modules or Templates that don't even work in the demo version. It's absolutely frustrating. My feeling is following: Prestashop is totally unorganized and chaotic. Many many examples have proven just that. 

Furthermore, a normal shop user does not want to debug or play around with software, they want a simple solution, install, setup your products and that's it. Prestashop is far from that, if you don't have some knowledge in scripting you're lost and have no chance...oh and yeah, even the most simple fixes take months to be resolved. Every release fixes some bugs and add tons of new ones. PS: Search for example has been a mess ever since 1.6.1.12 and has not changed since (just an example)
