"Our Stores" on the information module menu and "specials" on the footer menu.I've looked through the backend but I cannot find where or how to remove them.ThanksScorptech
shokinro
You can remove the links at the configure screen of following modules, you should be able to find those links in the modules tab.Info blockFooter Link block
scorptech
Yes, you would think that but it deosn't show up in the CMS module/information. It has me tearing my hair out (and I don't have a lot to pull out!). I can't move on with Prestashop until I find out where these two items are. I'm hoping the Prestashop support guys or other users can point me in the right direction.ThanksScorptech

scorptech
Hi,Thanks for the info. This might be a stupid question, but why do you need to edit the code to remove links?surely there must be an option in the admin screen to remove these without having to edit the code??RegardsScorptech
Kelvin Koh
Hi scorptech,The Information block you see in the store's front-end is the CMS Block under the Front Office Features section in the Modules Tab of Back Office. Once you find it:1. Click "Configure"2. Look for "CMS blocks configuration" box at the top, click on icon to edit3. Select "No" radio button for "Display Stores" option.4. SaveThat will remove the "Stores" link from the Information block. To remove Stores link from Footer:1. Click on "Tools" >> "Stores" tabs2. Look for "Parameters" box3. SaveI'll try to figure out how to remove other links from the footer withour modifying codes. As for your question, no it's not stupid. I'd say it's a good example of bad usability design. It isn't a good, smooth, no-brainer, non tech-savvy User Interface. Lots of areas where improvements can be made. How wonder can it be if it's something like Blogger - just configure and drag the modules to the different layout areas. WYSIWYG sort of UI. That way, when users change themes and need to modify the layout, it will be MUCH easier.
shokinro
Thanks calisyoda for sharing the information. And scorptech you are right. But I am not the development team member. scorptech
Thank guys for your help. I'm a Joomla person so I agree with being able to move modules around. I had another look at the CMS Block and here is where the option was for anyone else that has this problem (I hate it when people solve the problem and don't tell other people how they did it). So here it is:-Removing "Our Stores" from the left "Information" Block1) Goto the "Modules" tab2) Open up "Front Office Features"3) Find the "CMS Block" and click on the "Configure" option4) You will see an option called "List of Left CMS Blocks". 5) There is a block name called "Informations"6) Click on the edit icon under the "Actions" category7) Where it says "Display Stores", select disable.Job done!I just have to find out how to remove the specials link on the footer? any idea's?Scorptech
Kelvin Koh
Scorptech,You can remove the specials link in the footer from the CMS Block too. The option to to do that is in the 2nd section Footer's various links Configuration, which is below the List of Left CMS Blocks.Un-check the option and all the footer links will disappear. Not the perfect solution if you want to keep the rest of the footer links though.
scorptech
Thanks, calisyoda.Yes I hoping to just remove the "specials" link and leave the rest. What I can't understand is, these are very basic requests and requirements and it seems so difficult to find them and, if you can, remove them.I have a feeling that if a product has a "specials" tag, then it will show up until you remove this and it may go away but it's only a theory.Does anyone else have any idea's on removing the "Specials" link in the footer without editing the code?RegardsAlan

alirm
Thank you "shokinro". Your instruction was really helpful and I could easily change the footer link names by following your instructions.Have a good one
alirm
Some links like "Our stores" in footer are not appear in back office.Usually you can find your footer links in the following tab:Back office->Tools-->CMSBut in your case you need to open the related file which you uploaded in your hosting.1-First Go to your FTP and open your prestashop folder2-Open modules folder.3-copy blockcms.tpl file into your system4-Try to open this file with notepad, dream weaver or any other related software to see the file content5-You will find all links that you couldn't see Back office in CMS and then you can rename or delete any of them6- save your file and uploaded again into the same place that you downloaded before and rewrite the previous file DoneHave a good one

GryphonArmoury
I tried following the steps for removing the "Our Stores" footer, and while the lines of code are no longer there, the footer still is.Here is what I removed: {if $cms_title.display_store}getPageLink('stores.php')}" title="{l s='Our stores' mod='blockcms'}">{l s='Our stores' mod='blockcms'}{/if} and {if $display_stores_footer}getPageLink('stores.php')}" title="{l s='Our stores' mod='blockcms'}">{l s='Our stores' mod='blockcms'}{/if} Still no luck. Do I have to re-load my website from the admin panel or something?

trajanstudio
I tried following the steps for removing the "Our Stores" footer, and while the lines of code are no longer there, the footer still is.Here is what I removed:{if $cms_title.display_store}getPageLink('stores.php')}" title="{l s='Our stores' mod='blockcms'}">{l s='Our stores' mod='blockcms'}{/if} and {if $display_stores_footer}getPageLink('stores.php')}" title="{l s='Our stores' mod='blockcms'}">{l s='Our stores' mod='blockcms'}{/if} Still no luck. Do I have to re-load my website from the admin panel or something? module/blockcms/blockcms.php remove line 699, which happens to be 'display_stores_footer' => Configuration::get('PS_STORES_DISPLAY_FOOTER')will complete remove it from the footer. It shouldn't have to be so darn difficult to make such a minor change. There are clearly pros and cons to version 1.4. Yes there are tons of newely added features but most of them people don't use and therefore are forced to remove code, just as this one. I personally believe upgrades should make your prestashop have less maintenance but so far, it's even with version 1.2, from a maintenance standpoint, for example and maybe even has more maintenance to take care of now. :-/

FEQ
To remove the 'Stores' link from the footer information block in Presta 1.5, go to Preferences->Store Contacts and deselect the 'display in footer' option. This works without having to edit the template files. Edited March 20, 2013 by FEQ (see edit history)
sashakiev2014
1) I succeded to disable "Our Stores" in the footer from back-office 2) I disabled "Our Stores" line from Left block - "Information" editing module Block CMS in the back office 3) but "Our Stores" still persuited me in my Left block bellow Information part. I killed it forever, when I erased all information from file /themes/default-bootstrap/modules/blockstore/blockstore.tpl it is still partly available if user calls: www.mystore.com/stores
bcolflesh
In 1.6.0.8, from the Back Office, go to Modules > "CMS block" - edit the Information block, change the "Add link to Store Locator" slider to "no" and Save.
