ISBN not working in back office

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I tried to update the isbn field for my products but when I go to the back office it doesn't work:

I click on the product, insert the isbn value, click on "Save" and I have the success message.

But if I leave and get back to the product, the isbn field is empty.

I was able to update them directly into the database, but I'd like to be able to use back office for the other products that I will add.

Any idea of what may going wrong ?

Hello NemoPS,

My Prestashop version is 1.7.2.4

I don't understand because yes, I'm taking about ISBN field, and no, I didn't add it...

I don't understand where it's coming from.

It doesn't seem to come from my theme either.

Any idea ?

Thanks for your help

Hello NemoPS,

In the meantime I realized that I was not able to make any changes in some products, it was not just an ISBN field issue.

After a few hours I finally understood what the problem was: it was related to a field that I had added.

Now I am able to make changes to all my products.

I wanted to thank you for taking the time to asnwer me, and also I'd like to ask you a question :

I think it's possible to have virtual products in prestashop.

In my case, the shop sells books that can be paper format or numeric format.

I decided to have a single product with combinations and the customer can choose if he wants a paper book or numeric one.

But is it possible to have this combination marked as "virtual" ?

Do you think it's a good idea to have both paper (physical) and epub (virtual) inside the same product and handle them as combinations ?

For me it's better because I only have to write one description for the book instead of 2.

I would be very glad to have your point of view. Thanks again.

You mean I can't mark a combination as virtual ?

OK then, but in this case, what's your opinion ?

Should I still have one product and handle book format as combination ?

Or should I have one product for physical book and another one for virtual book (and mark it as virtual) ?
