Categories not showing?

Hello. I am editing my store, and noticed that the categories are not showing. I checked the modules and categories block is installed. I bought this layout, and in the preview it shows categories showing, but when I installed it, it is not. It is suppose to show up in the left column. How can I fix this? Thank you!

First see in Back Office >> Modules >> Positions if categories block is in left column list.

Also try adding more categories and products and when you add product to some category make sure that parent category is not Home.

What I have is a subcategory "Necklaces", "Rings", etc, from the category "Home". Is this correct or do I need to change it?

No that is correct.
Try to reinstall categories module.

And HTML code is there in left column but list is empty.
Can you attach zip file with categories module ?

I couldn't attach a .zip, but I copied the HTML from the category.tpl file. I'm not sure if this is what you need.

I was thinking about modules/blockcategories/ blockcategories.tpl or whole folder. but first try something from this topic

What happens when you go to Modules > Categories block > Configure and change Dynamic to X then click Save? Do the categories appear or are they still not there?

Also try to add more products for instance add 3 products to ring category and 3 products in other category.

You could also temporally turn on debug mode from config/config.inc.php

and if there are any errors, post them.

And try to delete all files in tools/smarty/compile folder except index.php

Ehinarr, yes I actually deleted everything but the English language. Would this effect anything?

I uninstalled PrestaShop and re installed it, then re installed the theme and everything seems to be working fine now.
