MichaelMcG
Hi,I'm new to Prestashop, but have dabbled with carts in the past (zen cart, os commerce, jshop). The features look very cool, but I just have a few questions I'd like to get answered if this is ok.Here it goes... - Can we integrate it with any SAGE software?- At the Checkout, can a customer select to 'Gift' an item and choose a different location for it to be posted to? E.g. for a Birthday.- Is there Content Management functionality to allow the Administrator to have and edit an About Us page along with other pages on the site? I think I remember there is one.- How does it handle a user buying multiple items with multiple different recipient addresses?- How does it calculate Postage on Multiple Products? The Products would require postage to be based on the weight of the product. Is this something that is fairly flexible?- Can Customer Payment details be stored online or is this frowned upon/unsafe?- Each unique Product will come in 4 different sizes. Each size has a different price associated with it. Could I still call this under one Product ID, but just use a 'size' attribute to set the price. Does this make sense, or is there already a workaround for this? Many thanks for any help you can provide with this, it's really appreciated.Thank you

airbag
Hi, - How does it handle a user buying multiple items with multiple different recipient addresses? Users can adjust their billing and delivery address during the checkout process, and also store multiple addresses against their accounts.I have not seen prestashop split ship different items to different addresses in the same order... but customers can always leave a message with their orders. mytheory.
- Can Customer Payment details be stored online or is this frowned upon/unsafe? There is a module that allows you to store payment info locally... from my understanding it encrypts the data and stores locally for stores that don't use a gateway and run payments through a physical terminal. I always prefer having payment sent directly to the merchant company to handle everything, and if something needs to adjusted going through that hassle with the company then storing it locally and possibly havign that data compromised. I don't know what the laws are, at least in the US, concerning this issue... but without a high security system in place I wouldn't like people storing my payment next to my personal info... but the option is there for those that need it.Heres the link: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/58273/third_party_modules/module_offline_credit_card_payment_v3_dot_02_dot_production- Each unique Product will come in 4 different sizes. Each size has a different price associated with it. Could I still call this under one Product ID, but just use a ‘size’ attribute to set the price. Does this make sense, or is there already a workaround for this? Yes, as previously mentioned you can set attributes... for the mentioned scenario, it is quite easy to setup in PS and yes you can give each attribute option a different price (well it calculates an increase or reduction based on the base price). Its also cool that PS dynamically updates this price in the product page, so when an option is changed it automatically updates the price without the customer having to add or subtract the difference in the prices.HTH!
