Category Home using the Reset and Filter Tabs - Where have my products gone?

Can someone please explain to me what the reset and filter buttons are for.

I've just clicked on the filter button and a couple of my product listings have disappeared from view - inside the cart, but not outside.

What is this button for and how can I make my products reappear?

Any help much appreciated.

When you change the number of products per page under "Display" or enter text in a text field under a column to filter that column by that text, you should click the Filter button to apply those filters. Click the Reset button to remove those filters and return the table to its original view.
