Larry Baldwin
Hy all, I have a problem : i`m on a shared server and the hosting company doesn`t want to change the max_execution_time for the domain i have and the image regeneration doesn`t work. I tried at the first to regenerate thumbnails but it stopped and now i have images that are missing. As i know that the hosting is refusing to change the PHP values, i want to know if there is any way to make the regeneration manually ( off site ) or whatever so i can have the images back on site. Thx.
El Patron
each time this happens you then have to click it again, do this until it completes...for some it takes many clicks....I hope that helps....
Mister Denial
@ El Patron: from your experience, is it normal that image regeneration keeps failing like this and having to be launched multiple times before going through? Because for example in my 1.6.0.9 installation, with about 1000 products and 2 images per product, regenerating the images fails likes 20 times before going through, despite being on a VPS. Granted, I had my execution time limited to 60, but still, with loads of RAM and CPU to go around, I would have thought that the server would be able to handle the regeneration without timing out. How do shops with 10.000 products handle this? Do they spend the entire week clicking on the button, over and over again?
tdr170
I to have had this issue to keep from failing when doing product image regeneration I do 1 category at a time. So in the drop down I select Categories/ All and regenerate, I do this for all except Products, during product image regeneration I select Products/ cart-default, regenerate then home-default, regenerate and so on. Doing the regeneration this way all complete successfully.
