Hello fellas,

Does anyone know if it's possible to wrap an existing e-commerce shopping mall site built with Prestashop in order to develop an app with it?

As you guys know, even default theme that comes with Prestashop is responsive one, so I'm wondering if it's possible to wrap it to make it as an app, or put 'package' on it in order make it as an app.

I've been searching it and found some threads in here and there, but there's no certain answer for it.

What I want is making an app that can fully synchronized with exact same server(or DB?) that I put all the information such as products, categories, images, pricing and so on, so that whenever anything to be added or changed via Prestashop's back office will be reflected on the app at the same time.

There shouldn't be any difference in contents whether a customer access to our shopping mall through his/her web browser or mobile browser or app.

I've found Shopgate, MobiCart, and some other services that I can use by paying monthly charge or transaction fee, but it's better to develop and get our own app than paying and using other companies' solutions.

Thanks for reading!

Yes, it is possible, you could even try using the prestashop web service api for it. Personally, I am building one with a custom api :)

Hello,
Can you talk more about the implementation?
I have a PrestaShop store and now I need to make two apps - android and ios. I liked to use the Phonegap but do not know if it will be a good option. Can you give any suggestions?

It all depends on what you need to do. My usual workflow is creating a bridge file to simply fetch data so that your app can grab it.
If you want to modify entries as well, you will need another file (at least, I'd use 2), that runs specific methods when called via post. Or, you can use REST, depending on your needs.

I want to modify entries too. It will be very best if someone can share some code for JSON format.
