QwertyShirt
I'm migrating my store over from WooCommerce to PrestaShop. I've exported all the necessary product data into a CSV, which I have formatted correctly according to the supplied templates.Every time I try to do this, with slight variations to make sure I'm doing the right thing, it comes up with the error "Product (ID: Number) cannot be saved".Eventually I had a revelation. I'll manually add a few products in myself, fill out all the required fields, export those products into a CSV and use that as a template. Surely PrestaShop would format it the same way it would read it? Wrong. I keep getting the same errors. I even tried importing the same unaltered file into PrestaShop and it says the same thing (side note - the CSV leaves out all variable product data?)Well at least there might be something helpful on Google? Nope. Ok well maybe I could email their support? Oh it's stupidly expensive to ask a question about something that seems to be their error. What to do guys? bellini13
Can you show us a sample of the CSV file you are trying to use? Also what options did you select when you did the import?
QwertyShirt
Hi Bellini13, thanks for your reply. I was going to take some screen grabs of where I have everything located on the next step after you import the csv, but now Prestashop isn't allowing me to upload / select a file. I've tried refreshing, closing / reopening the browser, clearing cookies etc and still not working. I decided to install FIreFox to try everything on there, but when I click to login the login page just refreshes. Trying to do something which should be relatively simple and it seems like the harder I'm trying the more obstacles get in my way. It's a pity because I really want to use PrestaShop but unless I can get this sorted quickly I'm going to need to find an alternative.
bellini13
What version of Prestashop are you using? I have used the CSV import on PS v1.6.0.9 successfully, but I have not tried on v1.6.0.11, maybe it has a defect. QwertyShirt
I'm also running v1.6.0.9. It may be something to do with the required fields perhaps at a guess. Do you know if there's a way I can attach the CSV here?
pskeeda
Import does work perfectly fine with 1.6.0.11, except that all the products get automatically mapped to Home instead of categories that have entered in category column. Do you the solution for this bellini?
bellini13
Are you using the category name, or the category ID in your csv file? I have only tested the import using the category ID of an existing category, which works properly.
QwertyShirt
Here's a link to screen caps of the imported sheet anyway. It all looks fine?? http://i.imgur.com/dnDMYpO.jpg
