sjmleeds Posted January 16, 2015 Share Posted January 16, 2015 Hi, We're on prestashop 1.6.0.9 and the search functionality is extremely poor. Is there a module or a fix for this? For example, on our website we have a product called 1001, when we search 1001, it brings up 3 other products BEFORE the 1001 product, those products are all called 9100, so it looks like it's taking into account the 100 first then the 1001 second. I hope that makes sense. Also, we have a product called "combicolor" - if someone searches for "combi color" they get 50 products that are completely wrong, if they search for "combicolor" it comes up first. So it's taking into account white spaces/gaps when it shouldnt be. Hoping there is a module to fix this because at the moment our customers just cant find what they are looking for. NemoPS Posted January 16, 2015 Share Posted January 16, 2015 For combi color you really need to setup aliases as it will always be treated as 2 words. As for the other it's really odd. We also setup an alias to test that and again that doesnt seem to work, for example. "combicolor" brings up the correct results, "combi color" (with a space) does not, therefore we put in an alias for "combi color" to search as "combicolor" and it doesnt work, it still shows the old wrong results. Really concerned as the search feature is so off the mark with results its unreal, even when setting title to weight 1 and description weight 2 etc, it still gets it all wrong. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
