Unable to force SSL on website

Hi,

I'm new and have been learning as I go - so far so good but I am really stuck with a problem linked to SSL. I bought a certificate and it was all set up but it only works if I specifically type https, otherwise the default behaviour is http for all pages of my website. I need some pages to automatically take the user on an https page (ie. payment page, login...)

I have tried all the solutions I could find on the forum but they don't work for me. I have the 1.6.0.6 version of Prestashop. I tried to add code to the .htaccess file but it leads to a redirect loop error.

I also enabled SSL in the BO (although it is only a click so nothing tells me if it's on or off). Am I doing something wrong or is there something I need to do to make it work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated... I have spent hours trying to find a solution but no luck so far.

Sal

hello

default behaviour in prestashop, with enabled ssl certificate in back office > preferences > general is:

- http for all pages (not secured protocol) instead of:

a) cart

B) order process

c) customer account section

so, on your website, where you see ssl conneciton (at the moment) ?

I don't see it unless I type https; If i dont type it then it just automatically goes http even for the login, shopping cart and payment page. (I cleared cookies and tried on 3 different browsers, same problem).
