Can not update modules.

Recommended Posts

Good day, I have problem to update all modules:

Warnings: 2

  1. Can not unzip the file (file can be damaged)
  2. Module blockadvertising can't be upgraded:

Eroro log:  PHP Warning:  trim() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /data/www/crazycocky.cz/www.crazycocky.cz/classes/Tools.php on line 1144

Any clue how to fix it?

Regards Mirek

tha same for me.

It seems to be a quite common problem...

Hi!

I changed the permissions to 777 both for directories and files (I know, it's a terrible thing!!) and I could upload all the modules.

So it's probably a permission issue.

tru to do the same!

My eshop doesn't work with 755 for directory and 644 for files: blank page.

Anyone Can help me?

in 777 mode the eshop works perfectly

but with 755 (for directories) and 644 for file it doesn't work.

in some hosts chmod like 777 doesnt work (for example OVH, aruba.it)

so... what about 755 ?

Oh!!

excuse me, Vekia. I didn't understand you comment.

Well, I suppose it is possible to try with 755.

Did anyone try with 755??

if you need to change 'any' folder/file to 777...

then stop

contact your hosting company, your domain is 'not' running as file  owner....

Hi, el Patron.

Not really all the folder/file.

I needed to put to 777 /cache/smarty

and I couldn't upload any product image, untill I put to 777 also /img

Is it normal?

gracias, el patron

That is not normal.  Hence my post, please know that 'nobody' on this forum will convince me otherwise. :)

777 means anyone, regardless of owner/group can write to that file.

Many 'good' hosting companies now will abend any process that is writing to file that allows this low level access.

Please take whatever steps necessary to have correct ownership of files (your domain without www).  That is outside the scope of ps, and should be addressed by your server level settings.
