[SOLVED] Using Media Server Fields

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Media server fields in Advanced Parameters-> Performance

For the moment I have set up three subdomains on a separate domain pointing to:

/img

/themes

/modules

and put them in the three media server fields on the performance page.

The problem is, now the site is not showing most of it's images because the file names are friendly and they do not seem to point to the real image folders.

Also, how does the system know which media domain is for images, which for themes, and which for modules?

EG. I have a subdomain modules.domain.com pointing directly to /modules but when I try to load my page, I have modules.domain.com trying to load some image files which isn't going to happen. As a result I am assuming that I have set this up incorrectly (not withstanding that the files at this time are still in the Prestashop App.).

So how is this made to work?

Thanks

it is not designed to allow you to split each file type.  if you have 3 media servers, then you would enter all 3 media domains and Prestashop would assign them in some sort of rotation.

so if you have the following image

domain.com/img/p/123.jpg

then Prestashop will just substitute domain.com with media.domain.com

The resulting URL would be

media.domain.com/img/p/123.jpg

So i believe your fix would be to point your subdomains to domain.com root directory.

Hi Bellini13,

Thank you for the very fast response.

Yes I had the wrong idea of how the media domains worked. As per your suggestion I pointed them to the root folder and they now work and it seems to make a difference.

Thanks
