spaceman
I think I must be the only person in the world still running version 1.1.0.5 and I really want to upgrade, keeping all my historical order data, etc. I first want to move the site to another server (on which I'm already running a test site for another domain using the Prestashop app downloaded via Plesk - which I really like because it's so easy to set up compared with a manual download) and then upgrade it to the latest version. Is it even possible to upgrade such an old version, and what would people recommend is the best way to approach it? Thanks Scott
bellini13
ouch... that is quite old. I have done a few old store upgrades from 1.2.5, but nothing from v1. In these situations, it is best to perform multiple major upgrades (v1.1 to v1.2.5, v1.2.5 to v1.3.7 etc...). This is because the auto-upgrade will not work prior to v1.4.4 It is hard for me to say if you can make that jump from v1.1 to v1.2.5 successfully, but if you can, then getting from v1.2.5 to v1.5.6.1, while time consuming, should work. If you are looking to hire someone for this job, send me a PM and we can work through the details. If you would like to attempt this yourself, the best thing to do is read through this guide... maybe a few times so you absorb it all. http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS14/Updating+PrestaShop Then make a copy of your 1.1 store, download v1.2.5 and test out the upgrade process. Don't even attempt to touch your live store until you can successfully backup, copy and upgrade a test store.

monksurvive
Just to make it sure I am making everything ok. I upgrade in this order: 1.2.5 -> 1.3.7 -> 1.4.11 -> 1.5.6.2 ?
bellini13
thats correct. And I would pause between each upgrade and test the application (front and back) to ensure the store works properly, before moving to the next upgrade.
