Prestashop 5 front end very slow, now losing customers.

I am getting the feeling that Prestashop V5 is very slow and not good for visitors.

On  20^th September I moved to Prestashop 5 having been very happy with version 4.

Since then my bounce rate has shot up and people have stayed away.

Google analytics shows the following

10^th July to 19^th September and same period up until 20^th September to 30^th November 2013.

Bounce rate was 6.52% now showing  55.89% an increase of 776.69%

Pages/Visit was 6.2 now 2.89 a drop of 53.44%

Page views was 23,880 now10,534 a drop of 55.89%

My site design was unable to move to V5 so I went for a responsive one.

I have had some work done on it to implement CDN and compress all images which has increased the site speed but it has not improved the bounce rate.

I am losing customers and lots of sales as they are not staying around.  Products are the same and layout very close to the old site.

I am now seriously considering moving back to Prestashop V4 and then looking for another system.

Anyone had the same problems.

The back office is fine for speed.

I would personally suggest moving over to a vps package somewhere. It seems most of your loading time is because the processor is being throttled.

From Kansas City, Mo. EEUU, it does not seem particularly slow actually not slow at all...google page speed is 94/100...

 

dh42 does a lot of performance work..so hopefully he can find something else.
