[SOLVED] module installation step, erro...

Recommended Posts

Hi,

in a new installation on online server i get on last step: "module installation" an error, no code just a "click here to retry". i redo the process but there's the same.

what can i do to solve this?

thanks

Did you set the right permissions on the folders? Some folders have to be writeable.

just a doubt.... talking about prestashop zip files.... folder in it have already the permission set?

in a previous install (for another project) i didn't get this kind permission on folders issue, but i've uploaded "Prestashop" folder on server, then move up all files and folders.

can be related?

If you unzip the files on your computer and then upload them via FTP, you will lose all permission settings.

now, installation are ok, setting permission solve it....BUT ...frontend is available ma the backend domain.com/admin/ notl.

it say error 500

maybe is an error related to permission on this folder (actually is set to 777 to folders (recursive) and file...

thanks

Which folder is set to 777? Other than the folders listed in the installation doc, I think there shouldn't be any other folders set to 777.

On my server, if I set public_html to 777, it throws out a 500 error.

you would only set to 777 if your domain does not run as user...I would move to another hosting...as setting anything to 777...is not a good idea..

ask you hosting provider it your php script runs as user.

as for 500 error, you need to obtain the 'true' underlying error which is masked due to error settings, here's how:
