[SOLVED] Setting a default carrier

I have 2 carrier options :

• Free - Customer to collect from store
  
• Charge - Courier to deliver
  

Currently, when placing an order, the FREE shipping comes up as default ... and the customer has the option to change it later in the checkout process.

 

I want to change it so the courier is the default option ... but the client can then change it later to collect himself (resulting in the courier charge being taken of his bill)

 

Possible?

You can disable the free carrier for visitors, and enable the default one. Just click on a carrier and disable/enable a customer group

I don't want to disable the free carrier totally, because the client still have the option to come and collect for free ... I just want the default to be "courier" at a charge

It won't be disabled, it will still be possible to select it once a customer is checking out (by adding address details)

Thanks, I tried that now ... and while not logged in it only showed the courier option with the charge ... but once I logged in, the carrier defaulted back to the FREE option, automatically

You can then add that carrier as default one, when both are displayed

 

Shipping->carriers->default carrier
