Guest posting is publishing your article / post in some other blog which you do not own. Publishing as guest! It helps in getting quality link and traffic as you will be able to publish in a blog which is regularly maintained and have good traffic.

You can also reach out to other website owners to link swap, however make sure you research the website first so that there is a benefit for both parties and the links you are asking to swap are relevant to your site and there's.

 

example: If you run a e-commerce site selling t-shirts you don't want to find another t-shirt company you want to find maybe a blog or article about quality t-shirts. or something like that. To benefit from "Organic" links it has to be relevant in some way but not the same.

 

Additionally if done slowly over time you will see a increase and those links will be seen as "Organic" in nature and will be valued more then if you post a ton of links in one day or something like that.
