i decided to move your question to separate thread, so here it is

 

what template you use and what ps version?

you can do this for example with free html block module

 

in this case you have to use code with banner and put it into the "top" hook.

you can change the position of image under the modules > positions tab in your back office

 

you can also use css styles with this module
