cnywrestling Posted March 6, 2013 Share Posted March 6, 2013 (edited) I'm trying a brand new installation of 1.5.3, but it won't install. It bombs on the last installation step with: 0% X Create settings.inc file An error occured during installation... You can use the links on the left column to go back to the previous steps, or restart the installation process by. There are many forum posts related to that message, but none of the solutions work for me. I am on hostgator and they meet all the system requirements. I have tried setting the permissions on the config folder to 777 and 755. I have tried setting the permissions on the settings.inc file to 777 and 755. I have tried IE, FF, Chrome, Opera, and Safari. It stops on the same error each and every time no matter what I do. I'm just about at the "give up" stage, but thought I'd ask. Any ideas?
