Dallerdkj
SOLVED: Problem where my webhost. Im making a new post. I need some suggestions too fix this -> Bug. I cant add to cart. It emptys. I dunno if i should just leave prestashop, and go back to wordpress. I really rather would like a "real" shop solution, but seriusly i havent got anything then bugs, and been working with WP and its just -> Working. Its the small things, but things that is so importent. Okay. Used my holidays on this. I cannot put anything in the cart. I tried all solutions. It emptys, in both IE, Chrome, FF. Searched all over the net. I cannot add multiple images to products in BO - They just get white. So 1 by 1 needs to get uploaded. I have modified the original theme. I tried a fresh install, but still, its sucks, check my other thread -> http://www.prestasho...1531-cart-bugs/ But most importent, my cart problem. Please anybody help, i used the last 2 month too launch, and im so close now. Any suggestions is apreciated. Dallerdkj
Hello Elpatron. Thank you for answering. Yes, the site is still in development, but i can send you the URL. Its a bit messy, with the cart on top, because i used to hide it, but for debuggind i have it on. I just tried the Fast checkout on 1 page, but i couldnt login because of the TECHNICAL ERROR, so its back on the 5 page checkout. I gonna clear smarty compile and cache for you now. The website: website deleted Yes URL and SLL matches Edited February 24, 2013 by Danielkjdaller (see edit history)
Dallerdkj
domain ssl domains are both: websitedeleted without http:// and without http://www I just removed Cart from Topofpages because it maked some bugs, like the cart on rightcolumn dont update. Now when its removed, it updates. I still got it on rightcolumn, AND in header of pages (the one i hided with css) becuase it breaks the cart style if i remove it. I tried removing it from headerofpages (and breaking the style) but it still didnt work, and made the same errors with emptying the cart,. Thank you Edited February 24, 2013 by Danielkjdaller (see edit history)
El Patron
yes, that is a mess...the difficult thing is not knowing what you have loaded (modules hacks bad theme).... have you tried going back to the default theme to see if the cart works? El Patron
you appear to have two cars installed...see the one behind welcome and login and the other in your right column... back office-->modules-->cart do you have two cart modules? Dallerdkj
Yes i know. I have installed different modules, but its mostly the standard modules that is being used. The green theme, is just created on the standard PS theme, that comes with the 1.5.3.1 version I just tried swithing back to the Default theme, im gonna test (clear smarty) and report back in a minute. No i have only 1 (im 99% sure) but it breaks the cart theme, if i remove the one from header. I think the top cart is what ships with PS? Dallerdkj
It looks like the theme didnt make any changes. But it still uses the modules that i have changed, as you can see.

Dallerdkj
I have multishop activated... Weird thing is that it reported for websitedeleted that it was 5 steps.. But on ALL SHOPS it says 1 page checkout. The multishop is just for testing (how it works) Edited February 24, 2013 by Danielkjdaller (see edit history)

El Patron
It worked for me, for a little bit of time....then I can't even guess what has changed during your testing....I can imagine you are a bit frantic, and that is a good time to take a walk. some advice. you should consider going back to the basics... out of the box, native ps cart works...we would like to think, the f'ers...what sort of crap have they produced...but in fact we generally have no one to blame but ourselves (see your tube, led zepplin, nobodies fault but mine)... somewhere along the line...you have, through changing the theme/modules/and other changes... created a monster... how did this happen? well rather than working on the 'hard' stuff....building product catalog, pricing, shipping...all that really boring stuff...we like to do more fun stuff .we want logo's, cool graphics..modules....but then it turns into a monster.... my advice...get back to the default them....make sure everything is working as its' supposed to...then back it up...then go load all the cool stuff... good luck! tannerS
Choose one cart module and choose a hook or location not multiple.... Doesn't look like bugs to me, more like a messed up layout. Start with a default theme, get it working and then add the fluff. I tried out about 7 themes before I settled on the final. After I knew what theme and modules would work for me, I started a fresh install with a fresh data base and built my live site. You don't want to go live with test sites full of old hooks, uninstalled modules and multiple theme files scattered around that did not really all delete 100%. The data base gets crowed with old files quickly when trying out modules over and over etc. You can clean the db, but its really less trouble just to do the cleanest install as possible. Multiple themes caused me issues, playing around with the themes got my files all messed up on one test site. My default theme actually disappeared after installing a "free theme"... You never know what can happen, always back up your work first. Once you figure out the set up and the "look", do a clean install and keep only the stable and working modules you really need. Dallerdkj
Hello Elpatron. It was getting late yesterday. Yes you are right, im trying right now to install a fresh Prestashop. Dallerdkj
Sages Outdoors, yes i will keep it in mind. I know that, but its very hard to transfer the products to a new install - even if i use the tables and extract it from phpmyadmin. Gonna report back later today , because i saw problems with my older fresh prestashop install. So hope this turns out good
Dallerdkj
Update: I have narrowed the problem down, to something in my database. Any suggestions to database related bugs is welcome
Dallerdkj
Okay used all day, to find the best way to do this. With a fresh install, and importing tables/csv the cart still acts strange. But much better. Now it just overrides if you put more then 1 product in the cart (from product page) Never had so much trouble in my life, and made a tons of webpages in WP. I once used Prestashop, in the early 1.3 version, at everything worked well. Now, all this secure and ajax/javascript functions, etc blows the experience. Well, im just hoping my customers (when its launched) doesnt buy more then 1 product at a time, cuz they cant Hope someone from PS would take a close look into these bugs (seems they have been there before) and make the most simple things, in example a store, the cart, 100% working. This cant be true. Im giving it a chance (even if i cost me a csv export module, that btw should be implementet as standard) and even if i can only have 1 product on frontpage as "On Sale" and even if i need database tweekings to have a specifikations page. I still gonna give it a chance. This thread is still unsolved... The mystery cart is still there.
