I'm a real dummie.

Can someone tell how I can activate SSL for account login and order processing.

Sure,

Go to the backend, go to preferences, and change the "Front Office's Protocol" to https://

 

If you also want the backend to be secure, just make sure you put the httpS in the address bar before you logon to your admin  eg: httpS://www.myshop.com/admin
