Category Description Cut Off in Front Office

Recommended Posts

The Category Description is being cut off when viewing in the store website (Front Office). The description is not really that long. The ones in the User Guide are longer. Yet when I view it in the Front Office, it is truncated. I have attached a JPG of the issue. Any ideas what is going on, and how to fix this?

Mike...sorry for insisting, but I think that product-list.tpl is not the file that pertains to the page I am talking about (see URL above). I am sure the fix in your previous post will solve the issue once I make the change to the appropriate .tpl file. I just want to make sure that is the correct .tpl file. Thanks!

Have you tried this solution yet? This is the correct file for your specific issue, and it is the same part of the site that the original poster who reported the issue was requesting in the link I provided.

Please give it a try and let me know if it works for you.

Mike, I did not try that fix because I am sure that is not the .tpl that needs to be fixed . It is more likely that category.tpl is the one to which I am referring. Furthermore, I think the problem is not related to a truncate setting. From what I can tell, the category description is being truncated (hidden) by the category image to the right of the category name / description.

DesignHaus42, the website is not enabled. I posted the URL in a previous post. When the page is loading, I can see the full text of the description, but then the image is rendered and the text is hidden (truncated) by the image. I tried cropping the size of the image, but that did not work. It seems that the category image width is too large.

I am using the Coton (Cotton) theme. It would appear to me to be a general issue. I can't imagine I am the only one having this issue.

It is a CSS issue. Did I say how much I hate CSS?

I am also having another issue where the Category Image is not being displayed. I will probably have to start a new thread for this other issue.
