Number of products / items in Prestashop

Hi everyone.

 

My question concerns the nr. of products / items one can have listed in Prestashop.

 

I 've heard from others that their site begins to show symptoms of slow load times, and they have "only" listed approximetly 800 items on their page.

 

Could this perhaps, instead be related to the specific webhotel of the site in question, or another general factor?

 

Can anyone ahknowledge, or discard this behaviour?

800 items?

 

Show a lot of items in a page its a bad idea. THe site goes slow becouse need a big sql query and need to show all the data (images, texts, etc)
