[resolved] Install localhost front office folder redirects to language

First time poster and first of all thanks for my question. Hopefully my problem is a common one.

 

ps 1.4.5.1

Apache/2.2.21 (Win32) PHP/5.3.8

running on my localhost

 

installer works great

rename admin, delete install folder

back end works great.

 

The problem lies in the front office, it is prefiving the url with what looks to be a language folder...if fe = eng, then I get -

 

http://localhost/prestashop141alpha/en/

if fe = es

http://localhost/prestashop141alpha/en/

 

the site is under root, not under one of these 'ghostly' folders.

this morning it was working fine on the localhost...turning on the url rewrite caused the original problem, even after I deleted the .httaccess file...it must have been in the cache...thanks to those of you that looked at this though.
