Peter Wilson Posted April 4, 2008 Share Posted April 4, 2008 ME-Commerce is talking about changing the permissions of the PrestaShop folder so that it allows both reading and writing, also known as '777'. From Wikipedia: The chmod command (abbreviated from change mode) is a shell command in Unix and Unix-like environments. When executed, the command can change file system modes of files and directories. The modes include permissions and special modes. In most cases, you can change folder permissions very easily from within your FTP software. On your Web server, simply right-click on the PrestaShop folder and change the permissions to read & write/777. That should allow you to get past that step of the installer.
